Aluminium Sulfate is white lustrous crystalline, granular or powder. Stable in the air, soluble in water, insoluble
in ethanol, acidic solution. Aluminum sulfate is usually used as flocculant, used for purification of drinking water
and sewage treatment equipment, but also for the paper industry.
Shape and properties:colorless transparent, lumpy or crystalline powder, non-toxic, odorless, slightly sweet and astringent taste, with convergence.
Food industry: food fermentation, vermicelli processing, salted aquatic products, food preservative and additive.
Chemical Industry:Water Flocculant, sizing of paper, Painting and dyeing of coating, drug, making of paint and leather, coagulant, processing of fiber board and rubber processing, Seed disinfection, Animal treatment and soil improvement.

Applications:
1) Water/ Effluent Treatment
For purification of drinking water and wastewater treatment, settling of impurities by means of precipitation and flocculation.
2) Paper Industry
It helps in sizing of paper at neutral and alkaline pH, thus improving sizing efficiency and paper quality (reducing spots and holes, improving sheet formation and strength).
3) Textile Industry
For color fixing in Naphthol based dyes for cotton fabric.
4) Other Uses
Leather tanning, lubricating compositions, fire retardants;
Decolorizing agent in petroleum, deodorizer;
Food additive; Firming agent; Dyeing mordant;
Foaming agent in firefighting foams;
Fireproofing cloth; Catalyst; PH control;
Waterproofing concrete; Aluminum compounds, zeolites etc.
